Our journey:
Teresa and I will soon celebrate the two-year anniversary of Earrings Off! Wow. Can’t believe we have been doing this for almost two years. I thought now was a good time to reflect on who we are and to do a mini-assessment to see if we have held true to our mission.
Our mission:
We fight for the health and well-being of our community and our nation. We advocate that mission through enlightening conversations and our written perspectives on both our triumphs and challenges.
Our name:
What do we mean by “earrings off”? In African-American culture, it is well known that when a woman says “Let me take my earrings off” it means that we will take on the posture of battle; that the cause before us is too great, too important not to fight with every fiber of our being.
Our tagline:
Earrings Off! a podcast and blog which focuses on empowering women and the men who love them. That empowerment is fueled by confidently embracing all the various facets of our identity as women.
Our output:
We create weekly podcasts and blogs where we share our experiences and network of professionals to arm listeners with valuable information.
Our why:
To serve as a resource for listeners to enable them to make the best choices to positively enhance their lives. We fully believe: Knowledge is the new Black.
